There are so many ways in which employees can be more productive in an office, whether it’s a home office or a corporate environment. With startling statistics around employee productivity – like, did you know that happy salespeople are more productive, thereby producing 37% greater sales for their business? – the time is now to focus on your productivity while in the workplace.
So, considering my love of wearables, it’s only natural that I suggest using smart wearables to be more productive in the workplace. It’s no secret that I use wearables every single day, so I’m excited to share with you how you can do the same to increase your productivity.
What is a wearable?
For our purposes, a wearable is in reference to a smart device that is worn on your body – whether it’s your wrist, ankle, head or elsewhere.
Why You Need It
Smart wearables will make you feel connected to yourself, and understand just how your energy, level of attentiveness, and overall daily activities impact your body.
In reference to the workplace, smart wearables can help keep you more focused, replying to emails quicker, providing better customer service to your clients or colleagues, and more.
The cost of wearables ranges greatly, from $50 to thousands of dollars. For the purposes of this article, I’ve kept the selected products relatively reasonable for your pocketbook.

1. Stay connected and remember to move.
Wouldn’t this look great on your wrist in the office?
When we’re working, we can often get so caught up in email, phone calls and projects that we forget to move. Honestly, when I worked in an office, I would go for hours without moving because I became so consumed with my work.
While this might assist in productivity in the short term – say, a few hours – it will not help your body in the long term. It’s important to get up and move throughout the day. In fact, many experts say that prolonged sitting might actually kill you.
That’s why smart wearables will help combat this lack of movement. Many smart wearables will give you reminders when it’s time to move. Listen to your chiropractor. Poor posture can lead to many problems down the road.

I’m a coffee lover, but I know that it’s not the greatest for me all day, every day…
