Addsfit Mini Massage Gun Review: Portable and Effective

We spent a little time with the Addsfit Mini Massage Gun, percussing our muscles, and grinding away soreness. Keep reading to find out what we thought!

The older you get, the sorer you get. Massages can loosen you up, and sometimes may even help injuries heal if your muscles are tight or knotted. But not everyone has the time to visit a massage parlor or order an in-home session.

In recent years, a wave of handheld massage guns, or massage tools, have cropped up, and they’re incredibly popular on Amazon. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from extra-large to tiny and portable.

Portable is exactly what I was looking for, and after some research, I settled on the Addsfit Mini Massage Gun. Addsfit also offers a bunch of options, including the Max, Elite, and Mini Pro models. If you want a full-size gun they definitely have something for you.

The Mini is small, easy to lug around, and fits nicely inside a gym bag, backpack, or even a handbag.

What Is the Addsfit Mini Massage Gun?

It comes with 2 different massage heads.

The Mini is a handheld percussion massager, which basically means it vibrates, at various speeds, to work the muscles. The Mini massage gun has 3 speeds, including low, medium, and high. It also comes with 2 different massage heads, or adapters, which you can easily pop on, or take off.

On high, it delivers up to 3200 strokes per minute, but it’s pretty powerful on the low and medium settings. The idea is to turn it on and let it work its magic to remove kinks in your muscles, reduce soreness, loosen them up, or just rejuvenate your body through a soothing experience.

Because it’s compact, the power is not anything like the larger models. That’s not an issue if you’ve never used a massage gun before, and frankly, some of the more powerful speeds can end up being uncomfortable. That said, it’s something to keep in mind if you’ve used more powerful massage guns in the past and they worked for you.

It’s battery-powered and has an integrated 2,500mAh rechargeable battery. It can last for up to 6 hours of use per charge, but the device will auto shut off after 10 minutes so you don’t overuse it. The charging port is USB-C so you charge it on the go if you have a portable power pack, or you can use existing chargers — my USB-C Chromebook charger works great.

Moreover, it comes packed neatly inside a carrying case, which makes it even easier to stow or bring with you out of the house. It is the embodiment of the term mini massage gun.

How Do You Use It?

After turning it on you press the massage head firmly against your muscle.

Setting up and using the Addsfit Mini is simple. You take it out of its case, connect one of the 2 massage heads, and turn it on.

One of the heads, called a Thumb, kneads the muscles and is for deep tissue treatments. To use it, you just apply pressure to a single area or trigger point. The other head is called a Triggered Flat, and you can move around an affected area, or just massage your body in general. Both work well, though the Thumb you’ll likely end up using sparingly.

There’s a single control button on the bottom of the unit. You press and hold to turn it on and back off. When it’s on, you tap the button to swap between speeds. LED indicators will tell you when it’s on, what speed is selected, and when it’s charging or the battery is full.

Quick Review: The Portable Massage Experience

The aluminum shell is smooth, durable, and feels great to hold.

The Addsfit Mini shell is made out of aluminum, so it’s sturdy and feels good in the hands. That also means it’s a bit heavier than something made of plastic, but it’s a welcome feature.

Depending on what you’re trying to do, even the low speed can be intense. It works great to remove muscle knots, soreness, and tight spots. You do have to be careful when you’re passing over bony areas like your shoulder blades because the head starts to knock on the bone pretty hard and that can hurt. It’s not a huge problem but it’s something to think about.

At the bottom of the unit is the power button and USB-C charging port.

Turning it on and off is quick, straightforward, and easy. It’s also easy to swap between the different speeds. Popping on one of the massage heads involves just pressing it into the slot. Taking them out is a little more difficult, but shouldn’t give anyone problems. You do have to press in the massage bit before putting it back into its case, and after removing a head, otherwise, the device won’t fit. But again, that’s easy enough to do.

The only downside worth mentioning is that it does not come with a power adapter or USB charger. It includes the cable, but you’ll need to supply your own adapter. If you have plenty of other USB-C devices on hand that won’t be an issue. If you don’t, then you’ll need to purchase an adapter. It would have been nice to see one included.

Overall, I’m satisfied with the mini massage gun, but what I love most is that I can take it anywhere. I can bring it to the gym, my work, or even my in-laws. It feels great on your muscles and also helps to alleviate some of the stress that goes along with physical discomfort.

Coincidentally, my wife started experiencing muscle issues in her neck from an old spinal injury. The Addsfit seemed to help her in the short term. I’m not a doctor though, so that’s not medical advice.
