Need to prop up your smartphone or tablet? I can think of at least a dozen times where this is necessary. Watching videos or looking at recipes while cooking. Trying to use a phone or tablet while feeding an infant. Watching tutorials while exercising. Like I said there are a lot of different scenarios where it’s would be useful to have your hands free.
That’s the idea behind GoDonut, a simple yet versatile stand that is relatively inexpensive and super effective.
What Is GoDonut?
The GoDonut is a stand for your mobile device or tablet, that allows you to remain hands-free.
GoDonut. The name makes you think of a powdered pastry or tasty treat, but alas, it’s nothing more than a unique stand for mobile devices and tablets. You can insert your device at a variety of angles to watch or interact exactly how you prefer. If you want to stand up your device in portrait mode, you can do that. If you’d much rather prop it up in landscape mode, yes that’s possible too.
The stand has a 360-degree turn radius so if you move about you can always shift the setup so you can see the screen and content better. This eliminates the need to worry about viewing angles. It’s also weighted so that your device won’t topple over, even when you’re interacting with the touchscreen.
It comes in several different colors, which means you can choose one that matches your individual style and preferences. Even better, the GoDonut is comprised of earth friendly materials, and is packaged using minimal recyclable materials.
How Do I Get One?
As you can see, each stand has separate inserts which prop up devices at varying degrees.
The GoDonut team was seeking funding via Kickstarter for the project, but the campaign did not meet it’s financial goals. Their estimated ship date was April, 2019 so it’s unclear how long it will be until the product is available for everyone. Most likely, they will be pursuing an alternative funding option.
