High quality audio is worth the price. Watching a movie with theater quality sound is amazing, or listening to your favorite mix like the band is playing right in your living room is surreal. But for some of us, just because it’s worth it, doesn’t mean it doesn’t sting the wallet.
There’s a new Indiegogo campaign for a new True Hi-Fi speaker by Morel called the Hogtalare. This speaker promises to be amazing, and the best part is that it comes in at a super reasonable price, especially now during the campaign.
What is the Hogtalare?
The Hogtalare is a dynamic Hi-Fi speaker that has a ton of cool features. Let’s talk about sound quality first.
The speaker has two custom-made 3/4″ soft dome tweeters and a massive 6″ double magnet sub-woofer. These put out a range of 36~20k Hz. That means you can get the deep bass along with the high tones as well.
Each tweeter is also one channel each for true stereo, which is great for movie watching or getting that full stage experience.
As expected from a luxury system, it has a custom built DSP, magnetic connectors, and three dedicated amps (one for the sub-woofer and tweeters each). This gives you the rich stereo sound a full range of clarity.
Hogtalare is made by Morel, a well-known high end speaker company, so you know that they’re delivering a high quality product. They’ve even gone with Bluetooth 4.2 over Bluetooth 5, because even though the could have gone with the newest protocol, they are experienced enough to know that the older gen is actually better for high quality sound.
Design-wise, the Hogtalare is a lesson to others in minimalist and elegant design. It has a reinforced cabinet, comes in your choice of four colors, and fits perfectly into Ikea TV stands. This is actually the most amazing feature for me. Get two and put them in both sides for an amazing experience. Connectivity options beyond Bluetooth 4.2 include Wi-Fi, Aux, and USB.
How do I get it and what does it cost?
The Indiegogo campaign surpassed their $15k goal and is now at just above $88k. The hype around this is amazing but they’re still available.
Options include one speaker for $169, which is a huge discount off the retail price of $299. The better deal though is getting the Two Pack for $299, which is a full 50% off the retail price. Get that deal, stuff them in your Ikea Kallax, and enjoy amazing quality audio.
