Even the softest and most comfortable of towels deteriorate as soon as you begin using them. That deterioration is hastened with every cleaning cycle. Not only do the materials break down over time creating a less comfortable and plush towel, but they also begin absorbing odors, stains and more. The worst part is that some towels become a haven for bacteria, which means the fabric takes on a mildewy odor.
The Mizu towel is the answer to these problems, hopefully doing away with them altogether. Mizu is being hailed as one of the “softest, smartest, most durable towels ever.”
If you’re wondering why that is, you’re not alone.
What Makes the Mizu Towel So Special?
Mizu is larger than the average towel, stretching 56-inches in length and covering 30-inches wide.
Originally funded via IndieGoGo thanks to a $480,000+ campaign, Mizu has since become an incredibly successful — and desirable — towel. Not only does it keep its soft, comfortable feel it also fights of bad bacteria through several different features.
Its manufactured with Xinjiang cotton and silver, which is one of the most luxurious types of cotton in the world. The natural and pure silver helps fend off bacteria, at rates of up to 99 percent. It means that it won’t start to smell mildewy like most other towels do, and it always feels great to use. In addition, embedded color-changing strips detect impurities from residual soap, dirt, sweat and body-based bacteria. Since unwashed and moist towels can actually expose you to skin infections, the strips will keep you and your family safe by telling you exactly when you need to wash the towel.
The material is both quick-drying and hyper-absorbent. It drys much faster than your average towel, but also helps get your body dry faster too by absorbing more water and moisture. The twisted yarn weave helps keep the towel durable, soft and free from lint, which is another issue most cotton-based towels have. Ever try to dry off with a towel caked in lint and fabric particles? It’s not fun.
Mizu offers both regular body towel and hand towel sizes. Not to mention, the body towel is 56″ by 30″, which is much larger than the average towel size of 38″ x 20″.
Where Can I Get One?
Mizu’s stripes will actually change color when they detect impurities such as soap, dirt and bacteria.
With most products like this, you have to pre-order through a crowdfunding campaign which definitely has some risk. The Mizu towel, however, has already been funded and is available through the company’s official website. You don’t have to worry about dealing with a crowdfunding campaign at all. Just head on over and order your towel — or towels if you want more than one.
