Does the look of a security camera in your bedroom constantly creep you out? Would you like the security with the false confidence that no-one is watching? Do you have an AirBnB that you want to spy on?
If you do, then you need to check out Panasonic’s new camera, hidden inside a modern house lamp. It’s called the FLOOR and it’s part of their HomeHawk security line.
The positives are that you do not need to mount it, possibly damaging your wall. The cord blends easily in as well. And no one will know it’s a camera. This could come in handy if you have burglars that may cover an obvious camera, or for guests that you may want to spy on. Kind of creepy, really…
Also kind of weird is that Panasonic, a multi-billion dollar corporation, decided to fund the development on Indigogo. Is this a trend now?
Check out their video.
Spec-wise, the camera seems pretty good. 1080p, full color night vision, geo-fencing, pairs with Alexa/ Google/ Siri, has a privacy mode, and is made by reputable company in the smart-home space.
The one thing that actually makes me want this though? The price. Seriously, it’s only $199, which is what some lamps alone cost.
