Amazon is no longer the sole provider of smart speakers in the market. Google has its Google Home and Apple has its HomePod.
Recently, Sony is joining the competition with their Sony LF-S50G Wireless Speaker, a smart home speaker that is powered by Google Assistant.
It strangely resembles the HomePod, at least in the physical sense. It also is similar to Echo in terms of the 360-degree surround sound, promising to fill average-sized rooms (25 x 16 feet in size) with quality music.
Of course, it has its own distinct characteristics like having an IPX3 water-resistant enclosure and a sensor-filled top for motion detection. Meaning, since it can stand spraying water and can take cues from your hand movements, it is perfect to act as your kitchen assistant.
Here, let’s a watch a video of the Sony speaker in action.
Sony has not yet released the detailed specs of the speaker yet, but we know that it’ll be out soon, by mid-October as they say. It will retail at the price of $200 and will be available in a variety of colors including black, silver, and blue.
