Pocket or mini projectors aren’t new. But for the most part, the ones that are available are lacking in regards to HD quality image and resolution options.
That’s not the case with Sony’s MP-CD1 Pico Projector. It utilizes Texas Instruments’ Intellibright DLP projection technology to offer a crisp, vivid picture with the option to project up to a 120″ screen. Yes, you can carry a mini projector that syncs up with your phone—or other portable devices—and delivers a 100-inch plus display much larger than even a tablet or laptop. I don’t need to spell out how awesome that is.
What Is the Sony MP-CD1 Pico or Mini Projector?
The Sony MP-CD1 mini or pico projector is equipped with HDMI, USB (out), Bluetooth, WiFi, and more.
Basically, the Sony MP-CD1 is a pocket-sized projector that you can carry almost everywhere you go. You could stow it in a bag, backpack, purse, or even your pocket. If you have cargo pants with additional storage then hell yeah, you’re all set.
It’s equipped with both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity, but you can also plug in devices via HDMI. The Bluetooth, obviously, allows you to stream content to the projector, while the Wi-Fi offers an additional network connection. You can project images or data—like documents and the like—but the real allure will be streaming videos and online content.
Imagine this, you’re out with some friends and you have a great home or social video to show off. You can all crowd around a phone or tablet, barely able to experience the media. Or, you could just whip out your pocket projector and throw it onto a nearby wall.
Sony’s MP-CD1 has the added bonus of a super fast, five-second boot time too.
Mini Projectors Are for Everyone
Because it’s so small, you can bring and use Sony’s mini projector just about anywhere.
Aren’t projectors traditionally for business meetings and professionals? Well, sort of, and that does tend to be a great reason to own or use a projector, same with teaching or demonstrating content to others. But projectors work great for other purposes too, especially portable entertainment. Imagine hooking up your game console to a 120″ screen in your hotel room? Or what about watching a movie on the lawn in your backyard with a quick and simple setup? You can do exactly that with something like Sony’s MP-CD1 mini projector.
So, they truly are great for just about anyone, not just a particular crowd. Just make sure you don’t have any porn active before throwing an image on the wall. You don’t want to accidentally project something that’s… well, risque.
