Did you know that 26 percent of Americas report sleeping better on their own? This is likely because sleeping alongside your partner can be trying, even at the best of times. Snoring, tossing and turning, and getting up in the middle of the night can impact our REM sleep which, as we all know, is incredibly important to getting a good night’s sleep.
That’s why I was elated when I came across the 360 Sleep Number Smart Bed. It was just unveiled at CES, and is packed with so many features, it’s difficult to determine what our favorite is.
What is the 360 Sleep Number Smart Bed?
The 360 Smart Bed was made for those of us who share a bed alongside our partners. Not only does it adjust to fit different body positions, it tracks sleep habits and can wake you at optimum times, can detect irritants in the middle of the night (such as snoring) and helps to correct it, and so much more.
It’s also smart, hence the name. This bed uses SleepIQ® technology and biometrics to sense everything you need for your best sleep ever. Let’s dissect…
What is SleepIQ® technology?
SleepIQ® technology knows what you need, when you need it. For example, if your partner is snoring in the middle of the night, the bed will detect and incline their side of the bed ever so slightly without waking them. Also, the technology will adjust firmness, comfort and support, all dependent on your unique settings.
This SleepIQ® technology makes sleeping that much better and more comfortable.
What else makes it smart?
The 360 Sleep Number Smart Bed comes with an associated sleep app, so you can connect and manage your bed right from your smartphone. Sounds like a dream, right?
The smart app gives you a variety of data and statistics as you sleep. From tracking your heartbeats and breaths per minute, to showing your quality of sleep when you wake-up, you can optimize your habits over time.
One of my favorite features on the app is the sleep time and reminder tracker. If you’re an iPhone user, this is essentially the same feature as the “bedtime” tab on the clock. I use this feature each and every day on my phone, as it makes it so much easier for me to track my nightly eight hours.
Details and availability…
As this product was just released at CES, pricing and availability has not yet been released. The Sleep Number 360 has announced that pricing will be similar to current Sleep Number beds, which ranges from $699 to over $7000. We’ll certainly be keeping a very close eye on availability.
