When I head to the weights area of my gym, it’s often mayhem – especially at this time of the year. Plenty of other gym-goers are finding their weights – whether it’s 12, 15 or maybe even 75 LBS (I stick with the smaller weights myself). For squats, I look for heavier weights than I do with arm exercises, which means that I head back to the rack time and time again to grab new free weights.
It can get annoying after a while. Grabbing heavier LBS, dropping the lighter weights. That is, until I found the Bowflex Selecttech 560 Dumbbell Set and it completely changed my game. I was initially attracted to the idea of a smart product that could change and adjust dumbbells from 5lbs to 60lbs, then I learned so much more about this product.
Here’s what I love…
I’ll say it again – it’s a self-adjuster.
Telling you twice, because I’m still impressed!
Forget the days of heading to the weight rack time and time again. Your smart product now adjusts your dumbbells from 5lbs to 60lbs, which makes a huge difference when you’re working out. Not only will it help save time going to and from the weights rack, it will also help you lift more – faster. With the opportunity to adjust as needed, you’ll use yourself harder – more than you likely would if you needed to go to the weights rack time and time again.

It makes you work harder.
The Bowflex Selecttech 560 Dumbbell Set connects to a smartphone app via Bluetooth (that’s where you can adjust the weights from 5lbs to 60lbs, by the way), which mean that the associated app has a plethora of features, too.
One of my favorite parts of the free app is that it comes with 70 exercises and a 6 week challenge. The workouts come with a variety of choices, like Armageddon, Crazy Core, Legs of Steel, Back Attack, and more. The 6 week challenge means that you can follow specific and unique workouts so you can get a kick start on the health and fitness goals you set for yourself in 2017.
You’ll hit your fitness goals.
In addition to the unique challenges that the smart product has available, the associated Bowflex Connect app brings all of your hard work together. The app tracks your weight, calories and time exercised. That means that, week over week, you can track how much progress you have made over time, whether it’s through time spent with the product or calories burned while exercising.
The Bowflex Selecttech 560 Dumbbell Set is available now for $499. While I was initially surprised by the price tag, consider this – what would the cost of a full dumbbell set be, from 5lbs to 60 lbs? For a smart product that is relatively new on the market, I’m excited about the opportunity that lies ahead for Bowflex and other companies currently in the physical and smart product space.
I’ve been so excited about the smart wearables that have come about in the last few years. From sports wearables to wearables that look great on your wrist, there are so many products on the market for those who are learning to run a 5KM to those who are already existing endurance athletes. The one area of opportunity that has been missing has been for those who focus almost exclusively on weight lifting. Crossfit anyone?
If the Bowflex Selecttech 560 Dumbbell Set is something that will change the way you work out, or perhaps make you think twice about the benefits of weight lifting, we’d love to hear about it. Send us a tweet or leave your comments below.
