Electric skateboards are pretty main stream now, especially in big cities and beach cities. Wherever you commute locally you’ll see them around because lately the quality has improved and the prices have been dropping.
One board called the Exway X1 has just been improved upon with the X1 Pro, now available on their website. If you’re looking into one of these boards, this is the one to get.
What is the X1 Pro, and how is it better?
The X1 Pro is a beautifully engineered electric skateboard that is the epitome of modern cool commuting. It improves over the old X1 with increased acceleration and a top speed of 29mph. That’s insane.
The wheel size is increased to 85mm now has a gel core for better handling and longer life. The battery capacity is increased from 120 watt hours to 190 watt hours and there’s even a fast charger option available.
The deck is also redesigned and is only 1.5mm in some parts to keep a low profile. Deck curve design has also been optimized for improved handling. There’s even cushioned deck tape for increased comfort and IP55 water and dust resistance.
What’s super cool as well is that it comes with a remote and an app for control and settings. For example, you can set regenerative braking strength which can give back up to 56% of your battery capacity while slowing down.
The coolest thing about the X1 Pro is that there is an optional belt drive system coming called RIOT. No word on specs, but some early reviews have said it’s even more insanely fast. I can’t imagine riding this thing full speed, but you know it will be a blast.
How do I get it?
Exway’s X1 Pro’s Indigogo campaign is fully funded, so they are not taking any more orders on there, but you can get it now directly on their site, ExwayUSA.com. I’d say the X1 Pro is worth it if you are going to use it a lot for commuting or for extreme thrills.
Do you use an electric skateboard? What do you think of the X1 Pro?
