With this Abdtech SmartFeeder, you are still going to be able to feed your dogs and/or cats, regardless of whether or not you can make it home. How does it do this? By connecting with your smartphone via Wi-Fi, thus allowing you total control over the feeding schedule of your pet's food, remotely. Now I know what you're thinking, "that sounds great, but what happens if the internet connection goes down and I'm unable to feed my pets? After all, the internet is great but it's not always reliable".
Don't think this any longer though! Why? Because if on the off chance your internet does go down while you are away, the "Offline Feeding Model" this product has will kick in, thus distributing 10 grams of food every four hours until you are able to make it home or your connection comes back. Also, and slightly unrelated, this product has a camera in the front so you can record your pet's movement and check on in them every once in a while, just to see their cute faces and set your mind at ease.
Overall users think this product is great in theory, however, in reality only a handful of users are satisfied, and the rest claim the app needs a serious update and the hardware could use one as well. This product receives a rating of 1.9 out of 5 stars on Amazon.
